MAY 17 UPDATE

Wow, can't believe that I have not posted in so long! It has been a tough spring striper season to say the least as there have been far too many "not good" trips and too few "good ones". We've spent several  days at the dock, mostly due to unpleasant weather causing lack of angler participation. This past Monday, 5/14 we had some decent fishing with a ton of action on the shorts and a few nice keepers along with a huge black drum. Pics in photo album/2018 Lou with keepers and Greg, assisted by Jake, with the drum fish. Yesterday, Wednesday, we had a good day in spite of the rain and chill. The morning started slow, but after we netted some fresh bunkers and made a drop, I found some bass and the action was hot. We landed some nice big stripers and lost quite a few of would be keepers, with the fish being the bigger ones. Larry had the pool with a nice 25 pound striper, Al had a hefty 18 pounder, Lynn landed a 17.5 lb bass and Evan boated a 17 pounder. All on board joined in the excitement, making the trip a "ggod one". At the dock today, as are the rest of the bass boats, due to lack of angler participation and yukky weather. Weather looks worse for tomorrow, Friday, than it is today, so we will see what happens. Fluke season opens Fri. 5/25 and we will change to our 1/2 day schedule sailing twice a day 8am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-6pm.

SAT, SUN APRIL 28 & 29

Sat left dock in heavy fog which gave way to blue skies around 9am. Tough fishing’ only a couple of keepers and a few shorts,

Sunday was a good day with close to boat limit on bass and not too many shorts. Dan took the pool with a nice 21.8 lb bass, Dennis from Wisconsin, landed a big 21 pounder on a lightweight spinner setup, Matt “red shirt” got a 20 pound bass, Ernie boated a good size stripper. Many more keepers and only a few shorts. Crew too busy to take many pics, but almost a boat limit in keepers. Catching strippers is a blast, but it is not easy, you have to work for your fish!! If you need help, the crew will be happy to assist,
