FLUKE UPDATE 6/18

Fluke fishing has been a roller coaster ride, slow days and good days Sat 6/9 was slow but Kevin and Paula managed 3 keepers between them and Steve took the pool  Sun 6/10 had 2 good drifts close to home, then it dried up and we moved to the west and put a couple more keepers in the boat. Tom and Sue had 3 keepers and Matt had the pool fish. Mon 6/11 light crowds on both trips, the morning started slow,, had to wait to near end to put some keepers in the buckets. The afternoon saw better conditions and all anglers aboard went home with fluke fillets. Tues 6/12, we had good crowds both trips but catching left much to be desired with only a few keepers mixed in with the shorts and sea robins, afternoon trip had a couple of drifts near the end and saved the day for some. Wed 6/13 only made the morning trip and had much improved fishing with good catches all around the boat, some anglers had their limit and Keith took the pool with a fat 5 pounder. Thurs, 6/14 with conditions restricting fishable areas, we worked hard on both trips to put together a decent catch of fluke along with action on the shorts and sea robins. Jim had morning pool with a 4 pound fluke and Paddy had the afternoon with a 5 pounder. Fri 6/15 morning trip had a few keepers, but mostly shorts. The afternoon was chartered and the great group of folks had fun and enjoyed the day, even though the fishing was slow. Sat 6/16, conditions were horrible and of course we had good crowds on both trips. We managed to get a few nice keeper fluke, but it was mostly shorts. Sun 6/17 Father's Day, with good crowds on both trips, the morning was pretty good with multiple limits and a bunch of anglers with 2 keepers, making for a good amount of nice keepers along with action on the shorts. Dave had morning pool with a 5lb fluke. The afternoon was a different story, got a few keepers on the 1st drift, but then it was barren. Went looking and managed a couple of keepers here and there. Paddy had the pool fish at 5 pounds. Check out our reports on FB, just follow the link at the bottom of the page. Hope to get the photos of the last couple of weeks up soon. Every day and every trip is different, so join us on a fishing adventure.

The Fluke fishing has always been a hit or miss deal. We had some good catching last Sat with some of the bigger fluke. Tom led the way with a 4.5 lb flattie, Paddy R. who returned from the morning got a keeper each trip, 3 generations of the Ahearn family were out with each getting a nice fluke and pool went to Steve. At the dock Sunday and Monday, out on Tuesday and anglers landed some nice keepers and dropped a few. Roy led the way with a 6lb beauty and Alex and Vinnie followed with 2 nice keepers each. Wednesday was the best day so far as we had a perfect drift in the morning and constant action on shorts, sea robins and keeper fluke. Pat had the pool with a 5.5 pounder, Kyle and Karley caught fish from start to finish with for nice keepers in the mix. The Wednesday boys put a hurting on the fishi  using killies. The afternoon slowed a bit as conditions changed, but we ended up with a decent catch. Barry of PA took the pool with a 5 pounder, Todd had a limit and Woody and Larry ended up with 2 big ones each. We had a beautiful day yesterday, but the fishing was a bit slower than the past few trips, but we put together a decent catch. Jim had the pool with a 4lb fluke. MAY 25 FLUKE

Left the dock this morning with a good group of Dorothy B regulars to look for some fluke. Checked out some early season spots which all held fluke. Picked through the shorts as the day went on. The last couple drifts of the morning proved to be the best as more keepers were mixed in with the shorts Pool winner was Art. The afternoon was a slight improvement in the number of keepers caught. Pat and Nick Rascona ended up with 3 nice keepers and John Farrell had the pool with a nice flattie
