FDNY

On a more solemn note, Captain Kevin was out fishing locally on the morning of September 11, 2001, and like most every other Captain out that day, rushed up the river to the tip of Manhattan, passengers and all, to provide assistance.  While at home in Brooklyn later that night, he got a knock at his door.  It was a couple of firefighters from the firehouse on his block in Brooklyn (Engine Company 246 and Ladder Company 169).  They said they were at the World Trade Center site earlier in the day and saw the Dorothy B. standing by in the river.  They asked Captain Kevin to bring them and some other firefighters to the city the next morning because the only way they could get to the area they wanted to search was by boat.  Joann, an old customer, happened to be down at the dock the next morning with her camera and asked if she could come on board.  The firemen said it was okay.  She took the pictures below on the morning of September 12, 2001 en route to the city.
